Le Clos de la Roche Vouvray
Le Clos de la Roche Vouvray
In the 16th century, this plot was named “La Closerie de la Follière” and belonged to the Saint Gatien Cathedral in Tours, then renamed “Clos de L’Etoile” in reference to the castle of the same name. Due to its limestone-rich soil, it was nicknamed “Clos de la Roche Vouvray” in the 20th century.”
This 0.80-hectare plot, facing southwest (setting sun) and located on a slope extending from the Clos, benefits from a “microclimate” that allows the grapes to ripen early. Uprooted after World War II, this vineyard was replanted in 2012 on this Aubuis terroir, typical of the Vouvray AOC.
